Overview
At J.P. Morgan, the Wealth Management KYC Operations team plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements to protect the bank’s reputation and financial assets. As an Analyst within the Wealth Management KYC team, you will manage the entire KYC process, ensuring client profiles are completed accurately and promptly. You will collaborate with client-facing teams to ensure all client records adhere to AML and KYC standards, working with Bankers/Banking Team, Line of Business (LOB) Operations, and Compliance to facilitate timely client response and feedback. You will stay updated with regulatory changes related to client KYC, Suitability, and Documentation.
Job Responsibilities
- Exhibit the highest standards of customer service with clear transparent communication to the banker, articulating requirements and time commitments
- Act as the single point of contact for KYC, facilitating queries including issues around PEP, screening, regulatory, compliance, legal, and operational risk
- Analyze AML risks associated with the client, identify and escalate potential risks and issues as appropriate
- Comprehend KYC risk factors and summarize the overall risk of the client
- Conduct in-depth reviews of a client profile to identify gaps requiring Banker/Client resolution. Document and update the client KYC record with high quality, meeting timelines in advance of due date
- Build strong relationships as the primary interface with Compliance, Quality Control, Banker/Banking Team, and LOB Operations to communicate challenges, risks, client asks, and remove roadblocks to meet timelines
- Serve as a role model to drive high-quality output. Provide guidance and training to team members to foster continuous improvement and high performance
- Stay informed of changes to processes, procedures, and regulatory changes. Make decisions that are effective and well-grounded based on guidelines, policies, and insights
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on deliverables and participate in multiple initiatives and transformation projects
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Minimum Diploma holder
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility
- Outstanding client management, partnership building, leadership, and experience dealing with multiple stakeholders, with the ability to handle escalations and drive to resolutions
- Strong research, analytical, and comprehension skills, with the ability to critically analyze client risk and controls
- Ability to quickly grasp and learn concepts, procedures, and use them to identify and drive improvements in processes and systems
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- KYC experience within the Wealth Management / Private Banking sector
- Fluency in written/spoken Mandarin to support Chinese-speaking clients
- Understanding of the firm’s KYC requirements including CIP, EDD, LDD, SpDD, and Product Due Diligence (PDD)
- At least 1 year of KYC or related experience with strong understanding of KYC, AML, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HKMA and MAS)
- Experience covering Individuals, Corporate, Banks, Trusts, Funds, NBFIs, NOAHs, Regulated Pension clients
