Overview
The Morgan Stanley Operations Division is the front line of defense for the Firm's financial and operational well-being. It works closely with Sales & Trading, Finance, Legal, and Technology to safeguard the Firm's reputation and franchise. Operations supports and settles daily transactions, develops effective controls, builds strong client relationships, and partners with business units to enable the development of new structures, businesses, and markets.
Program Details
- Summer Analysts participate in a 10-week program beginning in June.
- The program provides broad exposure to various functions across Operations and the financial services industry.
- Includes a firmwide orientation and on-the-job training.
- Opportunities to engage with members of Operations senior management.
Training Program
- A scheduled summer of various trainings, a speaker series, networking, and educational events to immerse Summer Analysts in Operations and the Firm’s culture.
Role and Responsibilities
- Collaborate across Operations teams to evaluate and reengineer processes to drive greater operational efficiency.
- Develop a broad understanding of Operations and its departmental interdependencies.
- Present to senior management.
- Partner with different business units to deliver exceptional service to clients in areas such as trade capture, clearance and settlement, account opening, cash management, billing, tax reporting, and fraud monitoring.
- Collaborate with Technology to design, manage, and implement business process changes to streamline processes, improve productivity, and optimize operational efficiency.
- Effectively identify and mitigate operational risk while ensuring compliance with global regulatory requirements.
- Establish and maintain effective client relationships to deliver world-class operational services.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree and graduating between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
- Team player who can work in a collaborative environment.
- Attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong time management and multitasking skills; can handle multiple responsibilities and projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to streamline processes in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to get the job done.
- Proactive, motivated, and possess poise and self-confidence.

Eligibility & Application

Compensation & Equal Opportunity
Expected base pay rates for the role will be $31.25 per hour at the commencement of employment. Base pay, if hired, is determined on an individualized basis and is part of the total compensation package, which may include commission, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, and other Morgan Stanley-sponsored benefits.
