Position Summary
We’re seeking a Treasury Relationship Associate to support 2-3 Treasury Relationship Managers and their portfolios of Large- and Mid-Cap Japanese corporate clients. Responsibilities include managing inbound client inquiries, overseeing product implementations if required, and preparing pricing sheets and other support materials. The associate will keep Relationship Managers and other coverage partners apprised of key developments within the portfolio or with individual clients when Relationship Managers are engaged or traveling.
Major Responsibilities
- 90% Sales Support & Account Management
- Perform routine pipeline and sales tracking/analytics.
- Monitor and update company profiles to ensure accurate recordkeeping of bank relationships.
- Collaborate with Operations, Risk, Product, Compliance, and other risk and coverage teams as required to support Treasury Relationship Managers.
- Provide support on ad-hoc projects as required.
- 10% Risk Management
- Follow and adhere to bank Regulatory Compliance policies (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering Act, etc.).
- Certify that risk-related forms (e.g., Suspicious Activity Reports, Currency and Transaction Reporting) are completed within required timeframes.
- Complete required corporate and business line Compliance Trainings on time.
- Know clients well enough to identify suspicious activity and escalate quickly to the Treasury Relationship Manager and Risk staff.
The right candidate will have
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1+ years’ experience in sales and relationship management support, preferably at a MUFG peer cash management institution (foreign or domestic)
- Familiarity with industry-standard treasury management concepts; ability to contribute thought leadership
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Flexibility for local and regional travel to client appointments and internal offsites as required
- Japanese language skills are a plus but not required
Compensation & Benefits
The typical base pay range for this role is $90,000 – $118,000, depending on knowledge, skills, experience, and location. The role may be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
