Overview
We are seeking an individual to join our team at Standard Chartered Bank in New York. The successful candidate will work directly with the Director, Fund Finance and other team members to manage and structure credit and financing solutions for investment funds, focusing on credit analysis, transaction execution, and portfolio monitoring.
Role Summary
The ideal candidate is a financial professional with experience in transaction execution, risk management, due diligence, documentation, reporting, and relationship management. They will analyze, model, and evaluate fund financing facilities and assist in the structuring, negotiation, and closing of financing deals.
Responsibilities
- Maximize customer profitability from FI relationships by contributing to origination, structuring, and execution of fund finance transactions, including but not limited to:
- Fund level subscription financing
- Fund Level Hybrid financing
- Fund Level NAV Financing
- GP financing
- Maintain governance and oversight of the Global Fund Finance book.
- Assist in portfolio management of the global Fund Finance portfolio.
- Prepare and present management reports.
- Monitor the global portfolio to ensure fund finance business conforms to Global Underwriting Guidelines, Product Program Guidelines, and all policies and procedures.
- Support senior transactors to originate, lead, structure, and execute transactions that fit the Fund Finance mandate for FI clients.
- Contribute to the quantitative and qualitative performance objectives for the Fund Finance business.
- Cultivate client relationships and protect new financing opportunities through premier product and solution offerings.
- Support the development of new products and structures to meet client needs and market trends.
- Represent SC Fund Finance in the marketplace; provide connectivity with banks and market participants of the products covered.
- Establish and develop relationships with key stakeholders and relevant segment and product partners to efficiently and effectively deliver the product to clients; maximize return by cross-selling to other product groups.
- Prepare financial models and credit memos; produce documentation to support contemplated transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio maintenance, tracking, and review processes.
- Origination and execution of transactions.
- Business and credit applications and approval processes.
- Client due diligence and legal documentation processes.
- Balance financial performance with proper risk mitigation and a compliance-driven culture.
- Take accountability for portfolio management and management reporting.
- Follow operating procedures and framework for Fund Finance; adhere to group policies and procedures.
- Ensure the business model aligns with SCB values.
Qualifications and Skills
- 1–2 years of experience in commercial and/or investment banking or related disciplines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of lending products, including subscription finance; industry experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and credit underwriting skills.
- General market knowledge in the Fund Finance market.
- Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals.

Recruitment Assessments
Expected annual base pay range for the role is 136,000 USD to 170,000 USD. The final offer will be determined on an individual basis, considering factors such as skill set, depth of experience, education, internal relativity, and location. Base pay is part of the total compensation, with discretionary variable pay and a range of benefits available, including a robust 401(k) with employer match, comprehensive medical coverage with Health Savings Accounts, inclusive family-building benefits, and flexible/hybrid working arrangements where applicable.
