Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and service-oriented Desktop Engineer to join our IT support team. The ideal candidate will provide on-site helpdesk support, troubleshoot technical issues, and coordinate with vendors, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth IT operations. This role requires a strong foundation in IT support, basic networking knowledge, and a willingness to learn and work independently.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site helpdesk support for end-users, including troubleshooting network, hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
- Liaise with vendors, contractors, and clients to resolve IT-related issues and support project implementation.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop systems, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of issues, resolutions, and system changes/upgrades.
- Assist in IT projects such as system upgrades, office relocations, and new deployments.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures.
- Conduct standard client system setup, patching, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Perform Active Directory domain and GPO system administration.
- Perform IT asset management, IT procurement administration, and maintenance contract management.
- Conduct end-user training / briefing.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in desktop support or IT helpdesk roles.
- Basic networking knowledge (e.g., IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN troubleshooting).
