Goldman Sachs Alternatives is part of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, delivering investment and advisory services across public and private markets for leading institutions, financial advisors and individuals. Private Credit is a primary investment area within Goldman Sachs Asset Management. The Private Credit team originates investments and invests third-party capital across senior secured loans, mezzanine/unsecured debt, preferred equity and opportunistic credit, supporting buyouts led by Private Equity sponsors. The Europe-based Private Credit platform is a top-tier direct lending platform involved in large transactions. Analysts work on small deal teams to identify, diligencing, structuring, executing and monitoring corporate debt investments across leveraged buy-outs, take privates, add-on acquisitions and recapitalizations, primarily for Private Equity-backed businesses. The work is deal-focused and exposes you to a broad range of industries, investment structures and products. Responsibilities

• Originating investment ideas across the product suite of Credit via early engagement with relevant parties (e.g., financial sponsors / company management teams)
• Engaging in all aspects of due diligence and business analysis to develop and refine investment theses
• Participating in structuring, negotiating and documenting investments
• Communicating and defending investment theses to internal stakeholders and committees, including AMD and Firm-wide Investment Committees
• Actively monitoring existing investments in the portfolio
• Building relationships with sponsors, management teams and internal GS stakeholders

Qualifications

• Investment Banking and Private Credit/Direct Lending candidate with 1 to 2 years of experience
• Strong quantitative, financial modelling, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Passion for investing with specific interest in credit and other structured products
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Flexible and creative mindset; ability to analyze a variety of industries and businesses
• Ability to self-direct, analyze and evaluate and form independent judgments
• Ability to interact and build relationships with a wide variety of people
