About the Position
We are seeking Linux Engineers to join the team responsible for maintaining the critical infrastructure that supports Jane Street’s technology. Our group consists of Systems Engineers, Administrators, and Programmers dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the platform powering Jane Street's production trading systems. Our combination of in-house and open source software allows for investigation and innovation at every level.
Daily tasks may include debugging kernel performance, developing management tools, or resolving production issues in real time. Tackling complex systems problems is our specialty.
Key ongoing projects focus on deployment automation, scalable configuration management, and comprehensive monitoring. We automate as much as possible to reduce errors and workload, while also enjoying the process.
Working in this group offers opportunities to collaborate across the company, including trading, technology, and operations teams. We use feedback and custom monitoring tools to quickly resolve production issues, conduct root-cause analyses, and implement robust long-term fixes.
We do not expect deep prior experience; we welcome smart problem solvers and provide hands-on training alongside experienced team members to help you contribute to infrastructure improvements daily.
