About the Position

We are looking for passionate and inquisitive students interested in security and technology to join our New York office for a Cybersecurity Internship. Our Cybersecurity Engineers are responsible for defending the firm against cyber threats through investigations and incident response, as well as building tools and automation to enhance workflows and grow our capabilities.

Our Cybersecurity team consists of expert programmers and security specialists dedicated to maintaining the firm's safety. We closely track developments in the broader cybersecurity space, allowing us to distinguish between interesting research hacks and issues that impact our daily operations.

As an investigator, you will investigate alerts, trace activity chains, and respond to threats, gaining deep understanding of various log sources, systems, and tooling—many of which are in-house developed or open source.

As an engineer, you will learn strong development practices by solving real problems with code, enabling us to detect and respond faster, better, and at scale.

Furthermore, you will learn to be an ambassador of best practices firm-wide. A key part of our mission is educating all employees on the cybersecurity journey, encouraging a thoughtful perspective on security trade-offs, sustainability, and risk awareness.

About You

If you are new to finance, you are in good company; many of us started in the same position. If you possess a curious mind, a collaborative spirit, and a passion for solving interesting problems, we believe you will fit right in. We value how you think and learn more than what you currently know. You should be:

• Currently majoring in or planning to major in computer science or a similar field.
• Interested in cybersecurity and technology in your personal life through activities like CTFs, home labbing, and personal development projects.
• A strong programmer who demonstrates high potential and an aptitude for learning.
• Interested in your development tools, including your editor, computer environment, and version control.
• Familiar with threat modeling and able to clearly communicate your understanding of trade-offs related to security, risk, and usability.
• Able to explain the cybersecurity decisions you have made in your personal life and how you approached those decisions.
• Able to adapt to changing scenarios and make difficult decisions under pressure.
• Humble about your knowledge, not afraid to ask questions, and willing to admit mistakes.
• A curious problem solver with a positive, collaborative attitude.
• Someone who demonstrates perseverance and grit when learning and investigating beyond surface-level understanding.
• Fluent in English.
