What is a summer analyst program?
A summer analyst program is what US banks such as Citi and LionTree call their summer internship for undergraduates.
LionTree's runs 11 weeks for rising seniors. Citi's Sales and Trading Summer Analyst program in New York runs 10 weeks and opens with a week-long training program, and its Internal Audit Summer Analyst program there runs 10 weeks from June.

Last season, half of the 20 US firms with an opening on record opened between 29 August 2025 and 20 January 2026. Some firms already post for summer 2028: on 8 November 2026 LionTree's careers board listed 2028 US Advisory Summer Analyst roles in New York and San Francisco.

Who can apply for a 2027 summer analyst program?
Citi's 2027 Summer Analyst postings in New York ask for a bachelor's degree finishing in Fall 2027 or Spring 2028 for Sales and Trading, and between December 2027 and June 2028 for Internal Audit.
Sales and Trading asks for a GPA of 3.3 or above, and Internal Audit prefers at least 3.3. LionTree's summer analyst program is for rising seniors.

Does a summer analyst internship lead to a full-time offer?
It can, in the firms' own words: LionTree says its summer analysts have the opportunity to receive full-time analyst offers for a start after graduation.
Citi's Internal Audit posting says top performing summer analysts will be considered for its full-time analyst programs. JPMorgan Chase says high performing interns in its investment banking analyst program may receive an offer of continued employment at the end of it.
