Program Overview

Brown Advisory is seeking motivated, team-oriented students to join us for an 8-week, on-site Summer Analyst Programme based in our London office from June 14th through August 6th, 2027. This immersive programme is designed to provide broad exposure to the investment management industry and is structured to build your analytical, strategic, and communication skills through global orientation, dedicated training, and meaningful project work.

Throughout the summer, you will gain exposure to various teams, including Equity Research, Private Client, Sustainability, Fixed Income, Institutional Sales, Compliance, and Legal. By collaborating across the firm, you will develop a holistic understanding of how an investment management firm operates and delivers long-term value to clients. Opportunities are provided to engage with senior management, attend and present in meetings, and network with colleagues and fellow Summer Analysts.

The programme offers a competitive salary, with additional compensation provided for travel expenses to and from the London office.

Job Description

The Summer Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Institutional Business Development team through a variety of tasks, including:

• Supporting the Institutional Business Development team across sales and client development initiatives.
• Assisting with client and prospect inquiries to ensure timely and accurate follow-up.
• Collaborating with internal subject matter experts to address client and prospect needs.
• Supporting the preparation of presentation materials and briefing information for client and prospect meetings.
• Maintaining and updating client contact details, account information, and pipeline opportunities within the firm’s CRM system.
• Conducting competitor analysis and researching target firms to support strategic business development efforts.
• Contributing ideas on how to use AI tools to improve efficiency, streamline routine tasks, and strengthen information management across business development activities.
• Attending internal and external meetings to gain exposure to client interactions, investment strategies, and the firm’s broader business.

Applicant Requirements

• Currently studying for a bachelor’s degree, ideally in the penultimate year, or a master’s degree.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• An interest in utilizing AI tools to improve workflows and efficiency; familiarity with tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot is beneficial.
• Interest in pursuing the Investment Management Certificate.
• A genuine interest in sales, relationship management, investment management, and financial markets.
