SGX Internship Program – Commodities Sales

Be a part of a fast-paced, high-impact environment. SGX offers interns the opportunity to gain insights into the Exchange business and the finance value chain, with involvement in real-time work from Day 1.

Note: Leave of Absence (LOA) may be required to take on the internship.

What the Intern Can Learn

• Gain a high-level understanding of SGX commodities business and the regional (and beyond) commodities industry landscape.
• Sharpen research and analysis skills and develop new marketing insights.
• Participate in SGX commodities marketing events.
• Prepare for roles in commodities and financial services, including (but not limited to) research & analysis and marketing.

Job Description

The intern will primarily support the Commodities Sales team in marketing and business development efforts, including but not limited to:

• Research and analysis: Download the latest commodities news from Bloomberg and share it with the team. Assist with competitor and market trend analysis by providing insights such as volume analysis and contract specification differentiation.
• Pre-sales & post-sales: Help enhance monthly sales presentations and marketing collateral by incorporating engaging graphs, data, and useful information. Assist with meeting notes and prepare information required for follow-ups.
• Event support: Support the planning and logistics of marketing events (e.g., seminars, webinars).
• Internal reporting & data management: Prepare and update periodic internal reports, maintain internal databases and files, and support management reporting requirements. Download product prices, market data, and other relevant information from Bloomberg to ensure timely and accurate distribution to the team.
• Ad hoc requests: Provide support for ad hoc requests, business analysis, special projects, and administrative matters as required by the Commodities Sales team.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Commit to the agreed period of internship.
• Have a good command of English (written and oral). The ability to read, write, and speak Chinese is a plus.
• Be proficient in Bloomberg and MS Office applications, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrate familiarity with AI tools and technologies to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and enhance the quality and efficiency of deliverables.
• Be detail-oriented and numerically literate.
• Be able to multitask, work independently, and adhere to deadlines.
