2027 Summer Internship – Global Markets

TD Securities is offering an exceptional opportunity to join a diverse and dynamic team through our 10-week Markets Summer Internship programme.

Internship Description

This role is intended to give interns a realistic view of how a Front Office trading desk operates. Early responsibilities focus on analytics and supporting the daily activities of the desk. Success in these fundamentals is the foundation for earning greater exposure to risk, pricing, strategy, and decision-making. While high performers may have opportunities to progress toward Front Office roles, such progression is based on demonstrated capability, judgment, and work ethic rather than tenure alone.

You will work on projects that expose you to real-world challenges and opportunities in key areas of financial markets. Throughout the internship, you’ll have opportunities to present your findings, gain feedback from senior leaders, and participate in workshops designed to strengthen your technical and professional skills.

Internship Overview

• Contract Type: Full-time, 10-week summer internship
• Anticipated Dates: June 21, 2027 – August 27, 2027
• Location: London Office (60 Threadneedle Street)
• Candidates must have an unrestricted right to work in the UK/Ireland throughout the entire duration of the summer internship.

Who Should Apply?

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate analytical and quantitative capability, an interest in financial markets, clear communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a trading environment. Successful candidates will demonstrate leadership, intellectual curiosity, technical capability (such as Excel, Python and data analysis), strong collaboration skills, and a proven ability to take initiative.

We are looking for non-final year students graduating in December 2027 or June 2028 from any academic background who:

• Background in Financial Economics, Mathematics, Business, and/or Quantitative Studies are preferred.
• Have strong communication skills and a growth mindset.
• Have strong technical skillsets (Excel, Python, VBA, etc.) and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Are team players who can collaborate in a fast-paced environment across teams and regions, delivering accurate results under pressure.
• Have a genuine interest in finance and the global macroeconomic environment, with a curiosity for current affairs.
• Have demonstrated leadership or involvement in extracurricular activities such as voluntary work, sports, music, or other personal interests outside of your degree.
• Have business-level fluency in English, with additional languages (French, German, Spanish, or Italian) being a plus.

Training Programme

The internship will begin with a firmwide orientation to integrate you into the culture of the organization, followed by an interactive technical training program. This program is designed to teach you the building blocks of financial institutions and the jargon of Global Markets and will prepare you for the next nine weeks of the internship.

The internship will include a formal mentorship with employees who will act as a career guide for navigating your experience at TD Securities and beyond. Summer interns will also have the opportunity to engage in our Weekly Speaker Sessions designed to familiarize participants with the workings of Global Markets and Corporate & Investment Banking and other divisions at TD Securities.

Global Markets Teams Overview

At TD Securities, we help corporate, government, and institutional clients access financial markets, manage risk, and make informed decisions. Throughout the summer internship, you may have the opportunity to gain experience across one of the following teams: Corporate Risk Solutions, Equities, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange (FX), Metals and Commodities, and Repo.
