Your Opportunity

Join a team that helps clients and stakeholders navigate global financial markets through insightful research and market strategy. As an FX & Rates Strategy Intern, you will gain firsthand exposure to the world of foreign exchange, interest rates, and precious metals research within Global Markets. You will work alongside experienced strategists, develop practical market analysis skills, and contribute to research that supports investment decisions, client engagement, and market positioning across the bank.

You will work closely with the FX & Rates Strategy team to analyze macroeconomic developments, monitor market trends, and support the production of research views and market insights. Your ability to interpret economic and market data, think critically about emerging themes, and communicate findings effectively will enable you to contribute meaningfully to the team’s research efforts.

What You Do

Your responsibilities will include:

• Market Research & Analysis: Analyze economic indicators, market developments, and central bank policies to identify trends and opportunities across foreign exchange, interest rates, and precious metals markets.
• Data Collection & Management: Gather, compile, and maintain data from market platforms, central bank publications, and third-party databases to support research activities.
• Financial Modelling: Maintain and update FX, rates, and macroeconomic models used in research and market analysis.
• Strategy Development Support: Assist strategists in refining existing analytical frameworks and developing new models and tools to support market views.
• Thematic Research: Contribute to thematic projects covering macroeconomic trends, monetary policy developments, geopolitical events, and their impact on financial markets.
• Market Monitoring: Track global market movements, economic releases, and policy announcements, and provide timely updates to the team.
• Research Publications: Assist in preparing research reports, market commentaries, presentations, and other publications for internal and external stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with strategists, traders, sales teams, and other stakeholders across Global Markets to support research initiatives and information sharing.
• Ad-hoc Projects: Provide support on special research assignments and strategic initiatives as required.

Who You Will Work With

Global Markets Research provides market insights and strategic perspectives that support clients, traders, sales teams, and senior management in navigating evolving market conditions. Within the FX & Rates Strategy team, you will work alongside experienced strategists who analyze global economic developments, central bank policies, and market trends across foreign exchange, rates, and precious metals markets. You will also gain exposure to other functions across the Global Markets business, providing a well-rounded understanding of financial markets and banking.
