How you will make an impact:

Under the direct supervision and training of the Shift Supervisor, you will learn to install and remove molds and related auxiliary equipment and components from the molding press, as well as prepare setups for appropriate machines as defined. This apprentice position provides hands-on training and a clear path for advancement to Setup Associate and beyond.

What you will do:

• Learn and observe safety rules for self and others, ensuring all safety guards and devices are in place and in good condition.
• Learn to provide proper care of molds and inspect molds during and after installation and removal.
• Assist with positioning assembled molds in the press, removing molds and secondary equipment after a run, and cleaning and returning them to the tool room.
• Learn and follow the die traveler system.
• Learn to connect water lines, shims, or auxiliary equipment per the setup sheet.
• Train on machine adjustments per approved setup sheets, following all pertinent Quality Work Instructions (QWIs).
• Keep equipment storage areas neat and clean.
• Learn to identify maintenance problems on machines and remedy air and water leaks on external lines; perform TPM checks as required.
• Learn to evaluate secondary equipment to ensure it meets standards.
• Complete all required training as defined (including any in-house or outside training).
• Notify the Supervisor when assistance from outside departments is needed.

Requirements

How you will get here:

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience required; willingness to learn and develop mechanical skills.
• Molding equipment experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Professional characteristics:

• Good reading, math, and communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated or potential mechanical aptitude.

Work Conditions

Work Schedule: First Shift (Days)

Environmental Conditions:

• Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance.
• Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards.
• Cleanroom requirements: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, or facial hair allowed.
• Exposure to loud noises (Equipment/Machinery).
• Some degree of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.).
• Ability to stand for the full shift.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $17.00–$21.00.
