Morgan Stanley Private Equity Solutions (The Team)

The Private Equity Solutions Team, within MSIM, delivers innovative private markets solutions across various asset classes in private equity and related strategies to a global client base. The team consists of over 50 investment professionals operating out of suburban Philadelphia, New York, London, and Hong Kong, managing a global program spanning primary fund investing and direct investing—from venture capital to leveraged buyouts and special situations.

Since 2014, the Team has built a strong presence in impact investing, deploying over $1 billion in social and environmental impact strategies, with a particular focus on climate impact across cleantech to sustainable agriculture. In 2024, the Team launched the 1GT Fund to invest in growth-stage decarbonization companies in Europe and North America across power, mobility, sustainable food & agriculture, and circular economy sectors.

Off-Cycle Internship Program

The Off-Cycle Internship offers a unique opportunity to experience the culture and atmosphere of the Investment Management Division by undertaking responsibilities similar to those of a Full-time Analyst for a set period. This internship will commence in January 2027 and typically lasts twelve months, providing an exciting and dynamic environment to work alongside experienced professionals on interesting and varied projects.

Interns will receive comprehensive on-the-job training and benefit from mentorship alongside seasoned professionals across various projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Investor Relations / Client Services: Support client engagement activities by servicing existing investors and assisting with capital raising across various private equity investment strategies, with a specific focus on the Team’s impact investment strategies.
• Manage existing client relationships and help coordinate client deliverables and review meetings.
• Support the production of thoughtful and timely market outlook, portfolio activity, and thematic investment content for existing and prospective clients.
• Liaise with various MSIM teams, including Legal, Compliance, Risk, Sales, and Marketing, to ensure successful coordination and servicing of client accounts, especially concerning investor materials.
• Collaborate with impact specialists to calculate and communicate the positive social and environmental impact delivered by the Team’s investments.
• Work with ESG specialists to assist with reporting and compliance related to key regulations such as SFDR, TCFD, and EU Taxonomy.
• Investment: Perform analysis as part of monitoring existing portfolio investments to support team members acting as board members for investees.
• Conduct fundamental research on diverse industries, companies, climate impact solutions, and macroeconomic trends.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must be a recent graduate or able to commit to a full-time 12-month internship role if currently studying.
• Demonstrate a high level of intellectual curiosity and a keen interest in developing knowledge in private equity investing, impact investing, and financial concepts.
• Ability to analyze and interpret both quantitative and qualitative information quickly and accurately.
• Proven ability to manage and execute simultaneous projects and tasks under challenging deadlines while maintaining high quality and accuracy.
• Thrives in a team-based environment involving multiple stakeholders. Must be self-aware and receptive to feedback.
• Committed to excellence in work and maintaining high professional and ethical standards.
• High level of fluency in English is required; fluency in other European languages is considered a plus.
• Possesses strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
