Summer College Internship Program

The Summer College Internship Program is a 10-week paid internship experience designed for undergraduate and graduate students. This program offers opportunities to attend development workshops, network, and contribute meaningfully to company projects while being mentored by respective managers.

Interns can engage in development workshops focused on key business concepts. Program tracks include Business Administration, Information Technology, Actuarial, Human Resources, Analytics & Data, Communications, Finance, Marketing & Sales, Project Management, Clinical Studies, Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other technical or non-technical degree programs.

Internship Details

• This is a paid, 10-week summer internship, running from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week).
• Interns may be placed within either a technical or non-technical area.
• Development workshops are provided to assist with the transition from academia to the corporate environment.
• Housing is not provided as part of this program.

Essential Accountabilities

Specific duties will vary based on the assignment, with divisional callouts provided below. For the Research Insights intern, duties include:

• Conducting primary research projects to improve the performance of the Health Plan and its affiliates.
• Developing and fielding simple surveys, conducting data analysis, and generating reports.
• Collaborating with team members to develop recommendations that improve operational efficiencies and the customer experience.
• Working with a mentor to support key strategic projects.
• Completing work assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications.
• Performing a mix of technical and non-technical tasks across a broad range of business-related projects.
• Creating and delivering presentations upon completion of the internship.
• Consistently demonstrating high standards of integrity by supporting the company's mission and values, adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct, and embodying the Lifetime Way values and beliefs.
• Maintaining confidentiality and protecting member privacy in accordance with company policies.
• Maintaining regular and reliable attendance.
• Performing other functions as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

Desired Majors/Degree Programs Include: Public Health, Psychology, Business Analytics, Market Research, Business, Mathematics, Marketing, Statistics, or similar programs.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

• Basic experience in survey design, data analysis, and report writing.
• Highly effective communication and project management skills.
• Experience with analytical software packages (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R) or survey administration platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, Survey Monkey, Google Forms) is preferred.
• Willingness to take additional training in survey design and data analysis.

Required Qualifications

• Must possess a High School diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Must maintain good academic standing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences and interface with staff at all company levels.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced and changing environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and delivering high-quality work product.
• Ability to work well in a team and establish positive working relationships with peers.
• Demonstrated strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
• Proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility in completing assigned tasks.
• Commitment to the continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, and capable of working within intra- and inter-departmental teams as needed.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and using a desktop computer in a professional environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation, viewing a computer, and using a keyboard, mouse, and/or phone for three (3) or more hours at a time.
• Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training courses as needed.

Compensation and EEO Information

Compensation Range (Level I): Minimum $18.00 - Maximum $20.00

The indicated salary range represents the minimum and maximum for this position. Actual salary will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, budget availability, prior experience, knowledge, skill, and education as they relate to the position’s minimum qualifications, in addition to internal equity. The posted range reflects one component of the total rewards package, which may also include participation in group health and/or dental insurance, a retirement plan, a wellness program, paid time away from work, and paid holidays.
