Reporter, North American High Yield Bond & Syndicated Loan Market

Debtwire, a leading provider of global fixed income news, analysis, and data for over two decades, is seeking a Reporter to cover the North American high yield bond and syndicated loan market.

Working on the news desk in New York with sweeping views of Central Park, you will break news on companies raising leveraged loans and bonds for M&A, refinancing, and organic growth. This role is focused on writing in-depth stories about investor sentiment regarding new issuance and broader market trends, rather than deal pricing.

You will chronicle the dynamics between syndicated and private credit as borrowers and financial sponsors seek optimal financing terms, particularly for AI data centers, leveraged buyouts, and refinancing maturing debt.

Debtwire journalists are expected to proactively uncover leads from market sources—including asset managers, law firms, and banks—while also collaborating extensively with fellow reporters and analysts across Debtwire, Mergermarket, and Infralogic globally to break news in a highly competitive space.

While extensive market training will be provided on the job, the ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience working at a financial news outlet or relevant internships at top-tier publications. Candidates with experience working on Wall Street are also encouraged to apply.
