Reporter, North American High Yield Bond and Syndicated Loan Market

Debtwire, a leading provider of global fixed income news, analysis, and data for over two decades, is seeking a Reporter to cover the North American high yield bond and syndicated loan market. Working on the news desk in New York with views of Central Park, you will break news on companies raising leveraged loans and bonds for M&A, refinancing, and organic growth. This role focuses on in-depth storytelling about investor sentiment regarding new issuance and broader market trends, rather than deal pricing.

The Reporter will chronicle the dynamics between syndicated and private credit as borrowers and financial sponsors seek optimal financing terms, especially for AI data centers, leveraged buyouts, and debt refinancing.

Journalists at Debtwire are expected to use their own initiative to uncover leads from market sources, including asset managers, law firms, and banks. Collaboration with fellow reporters and analysts across Debtwire, Mergermarket, and Infralogic globally is essential for breaking news in this competitive space.

While extensive market training is provided on the job, the ideal candidate will possess at least one year of experience in financial journalism or successful internships at top-tier publications. Candidates with prior experience working on Wall Street are also encouraged to apply.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range is $80,000 - $130,000, and the salary is negotiable based on experience and skills.
