Want to spend six weeks building experience that could take your career further? Our Summer Internship gives you the chance to learn by doing, work with clients, and build experience alongside people who will support you.

At BDO, the largest organisation in the UK mid-market with over £1bn in revenue and 8,000 people across the UK, you will have access to significant scale, expertise, and career opportunities without feeling like just another number.

The programme begins on Monday, July 5th, with an organisation-wide induction in Coventry (fully paid for). During this three-day induction, you will receive an introduction to BDO, our values, and our service lines. Following the induction, you will be based in the office location you applied to for the remainder of the programme. Successful candidates must be able to commit to the full six-week duration.

About Actuarial

In Actuarial, we help businesses understand risk, plan ahead, and make confident financial decisions. As a summer intern, you will engage directly in client work, from analysing data to transforming numbers into helpful insights. You will work alongside experienced colleagues and gain hands-on understanding of how actuarial thinking helps businesses prepare for the future.

This offers big opportunities paired with personal support. Furthermore, upon successful completion of your internship, you may be offered the opportunity to return after graduation and join the team you already know, providing a direct pathway into the BDO graduate programme.

About the Programme

During your internship, you will explore various business areas, learn about professional qualifications, and participate in workshops focused on our values, culture, and wellbeing. You will then apply this learning by working alongside experienced colleagues and fellow interns.

This is an opportunity to try new things, build your confidence, and gain a thorough understanding of working at BDO, all while having people available to answer questions and help maximise your experience.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is curious, resilient, and ready to embrace new challenges. You should enjoy problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration with others.

You do not need to arrive knowing everything about Actuarial. Bring your energy and willingness to get involved, and you will receive the experience, feedback, and support necessary to develop from there.

Location Note: This opportunity is based at our London hub. Applicants must live within a commutable distance of the specified office as relocation support is not provided. We value in-person time—whether in the office or with clients—for professional learning and relationship building.

Eligibility Requirements

To apply, you must meet the following criteria:

• Be a second-year student on a four-year undergraduate degree seeking a third-year work placement.
• Hold a minimum of a 2:2 degree in any discipline (obtained or predicted).
• Have three A-levels or equivalent at grades A*-C (excluding General Studies and Extended Projects), or four Scottish Advanced Highers at grade A-B. (Note: We do not use UCAS points; evidence will be requested if successful.)
• Achieve GCSEs at grade 4 and above in Maths and English, or Scottish National 5 grade A-C. (Evidence will be requested if successful.)
• Possess the right to work in the UK.
