Team Overview

The Global Markets Division drives revenue growth and enhances liquidity across SGX’s full suite of Equities, Derivatives, Foreign Exchange (FX), and Commodities products, including services offered through its subsidiaries. The group comprises several business units: Equities, Derivatives, FX, Commodities, and Market Platforms.

This internship is within the Securities Market & Depository team under the Equities business unit, responsible for the development and growth of SGX’s securities market. The role sits in the Post Trade & Depository business, which oversees the planning, development, and management of SGX’s post-trade and depository products and services. The team also enhances value-added digital solutions, including the SGX Investor Portal and mobile app, to improve stakeholder engagement and support continuous capital-raising opportunities for listed companies beyond their initial public offerings.

The team works closely with a broad range of stakeholders, including listed companies, institutional and retail investors, traders, depository agents, and brokerage firms, to deliver efficient post-trade services and strengthen Singapore’s capital market ecosystem.

What the Intern Can Learn

• Understanding Singapore capital market and competitive landscape
• Strategic marketing, product planning, development, and execution of financial product/service launches and events for companies, market participants, and investors
• Insights into equities products’ post-trade lifecycle
• Marketing analytics, measurements, and tracking
• Involvement in online/social marketing, UX design, and development of online content on websites and mobile apps
• Stakeholder management and engagement, including development of content and execution and delivery of marketing materials
• Relationship building across different business units, vendors, and stakeholder groups
• Data-driven decision making

Job Description

• Assist in coordinating initiatives involving internal and external stakeholders, including peer research, user journey design and tracking, data analysis, and UX design for websites and mobile apps
• Assist in defining a mobile app adoption strategy using data-driven decisions
• Support the manager in operationalising and maintaining web content, marketing plans, user guides, FAQs, and managing queries with internal units and vendors
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing for new feature launches
• Assist in database and marketing budget management
• Support other business projects and activities as needed

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Good communication skills (written and spoken) in English
• Familiar and comfortable with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Knowledge of investing is an advantage; bonus if the candidate has invested in stocks or bonds
• Interest and background in product planning, website and mobile app development, user experience design, marketing, and service management
• Meticulous and responsible; takes ownership of assignments and can work independently
• Ability to multitask
• Willingness to learn multiple disciplines (e.g., customer experience, product planning, and marketing)
