Associate, Infrastructure and Projects Advisory
KPMG is seeking an Associate for its Infrastructure and Projects Advisory team within the Deal Advisory practice. The role offers opportunities to support large capital projects, develop construction advisory expertise, and work collaboratively with clients and engagement teams.
Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and recommend improvements to construction management processes and internal controls.
- Lead construction contract reviews, project oversight, and monitoring functions for large capital projects.
- Define and implement recommendations related to construction management policies, procedures, processes, internal controls, roles, responsibilities, reporting, and supporting information technology.
- Conduct project reviews to evaluate percentage of completion, the probability of recovery for change orders and claims, the reasonableness of estimates to complete construction, schedule delays, defective specifications, and loss of productivity.
- Work with engagement teams to perform fieldwork, including data collection, analysis, and work paper documentation.
- Prepare, edit, and proofread narrative reports and presentations containing observations and recommendations.
- Work closely and independently under the guidance of Directors and Partners.
- Use Excel, PowerPoint, and other data visualization tools to produce client deliverables, reports, and dashboards.
Qualifications
- At least one year of recent experience in field construction management or construction advisory services, with increasing roles and responsibilities across a variety of large capital project types for public and private clients.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Professional certification such as Professional Engineer, Project Management Professional, Certified Construction Manager, Certified Public Accountant, or American Institute of Architects membership is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating with clients and managing subcontractors throughout the full life cycle of construction projects, including planning and work breakdown structures, pre-construction services, contract sourcing and procurement, contract administration, scheduling, cost estimating, quality management, project reporting, and project closeout.
- Experience using project management tools such as Procore, E-Builder, Primavera, Enterprise, Prolog, and other related toolsets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, documentation, records retention, and work paper organizational skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel.
