2027 Institutional Client Group Summer Internship

Our Sales teams engage investors and their representatives to identify investment needs and explore ways in which LAM is positioned to meet those needs. There are several departments within Sales, including Private Clients, Financial Institutions, and Institutional Clients.

Our hands-on, 10-week internship is designed as a Summer Associate program for interns between their junior and senior year who are pursuing a career in Sales. You will establish a deep understanding of how our Institutional Client Group works with clients in the Americas through industry-leading products, advice, and service. In addition to role-specific training, interns also receive mentorship, engage in networking and volunteer opportunities, and benefit from employee resource groups such as LEAD, which focuses on the development of future leaders through training, internal mobility, and philanthropy. The summer internship concludes with a final capstone project in which interns present an innovative sales pitch or a white paper on an interesting industry topic.

Eligibility Criteria

• This program is open to rising undergraduate seniors only. You must be graduating in 2028.
• Ability to start an internship on June 7, 2027, and end on August 13, 2027.
• Ability to be in NYC for the duration of the internship.
• Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

What You Will Do

• Work with the Institutional Client Group sales reps and associates to best understand LAM's diverse client base and strategic products sold within a channel.
• Research major trends within the industry to drive sales channel business.
• Prioritize extensive potential prospect lists based on firm strengths and client needs.
• Work alongside the Institutional Client Group associate to complete client requests.
• Use various internal and external research tools to conduct analyses that deepen client relationships.
• Update presentations for portfolio managers and sales representatives.
• Conduct competitive analysis based on qualitative and quantitative metrics.

Required Qualifications

• Strong leadership skills.
• Ability and desire to work in a collaborative environment.
• Passion for markets and investing.
• Exceptional organization and communication skills (written and oral).
• Intellectually curious and willingness to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
• Intermediate use of Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
• Familiarity or experience with generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, or similar).

Compensation: Pro-rated base annual salary of $85,000
