The Lazard AI and Data Group serves as Lazard’s internal innovation engine. This team brings together data scientists, data engineers, AI engineers, and software engineers to develop advanced, data-driven solutions that enhance decision-making across Lazard’s Financial Advisory and Asset Management businesses. The group identifies opportunities to improve business processes through technology, developing solutions from concept to deployment and continuous iteration.

As a Data Scientist Summer Intern within the AI & Data Team, your primary responsibility will be to help analyze large-scale financial datasets and extract valuable insights to benefit the business. You will have the opportunity to work closely with data scientists, investment bankers, portfolio managers, and senior management across the Firm. Successful candidates must possess a strong quantitative background, including solid statistical modeling skills and hands-on programming experience, as we are committed to leading with cloud and new technologies.

Role Summary

Join Lazard’s AI & Data Group as a Data Science Intern and apply machine learning, statistical modeling, and large-language-model technologies to develop data-driven solutions for Financial Advisory and Asset Management. You will analyze large-scale datasets, communicate insights to technical and business stakeholders, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver practical, high-impact tools.

Eligibility Criteria

Time Commitment:

• Ability to start the internship on June 7, 2027, and end on August 13, 2027.
• Ability to be located in NYC for the entire duration of the internship.

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Business Analytics, or equivalent.
• Strong programming skills in Python; experience with object-oriented programming is preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of machine learning algorithms and strong statistical/econometric modeling skills.
• Ability to query and analyze data from large-scale databases; prior big data engineering experience is preferred.
• Experience with data visualization and communicating technical results to non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with large language model (LLM) frameworks.
• The ability to work both independently and as a team player.
• Strong interest or previous experience in finance is preferred.
