Job Description - Accounting and Business Insights Industrial Placement

We actively engage with data, track markets, stay ahead of regulations, influence product development, and ensure the Group's financial health continues to grow.

On this Accounting and Business Insights Industrial Placement, you will be deeply involved, not just observing. You will provide insights that guide where we allocate resources, how we manage risk, and how we deliver value to millions of customers and shareholders.

Over 12 months, you will gain a comprehensive view of how the bank operates and how to maintain its smooth function.

What Your Work Could Look Like

• Supporting monthly reporting cycles to help produce accurate financial results and commentary.
• Analyzing data to explain performance drivers and identify areas for improvement.
• Building reports and visualizations to support business decisions across the organization.
• Collaborating with teams to enhance processes, increase efficiency, and reduce risk.
• Translating complex financial data into clear, practical insights for stakeholders.

You will partner with the business to understand performance and influence future strategic decisions. Throughout the program, you will gain a 360° view of finance's role in powering the bank, work on projects with real strategic impact, and participate in tech-driven transformations redefining modern finance.

Requirements

What You Need to Apply

• Must be in your penultimate year of university.
• While no minimum degree achievement is set, candidates should demonstrate sound knowledge, understanding, and technical skills relevant to the role. Some aspects of this, alongside behaviors and values, will be assessed during the application process.
• We are unable to sponsor visas.

Locations and Dates

Locations: Choose from various UK locations including South West, West Yorkshire, London, and Edinburgh. You will be based at your chosen location throughout your program.

With our hybrid working policy, all colleagues are expected to spend a minimum of two days per week in the office.

Application Dates: Applications for the Accounting and Business Insights Industrial Placement Scheme open on September 10th and close on November 8th. Please note that the London location closes earlier, on October 4th.
