Position Overview
KPMG is currently seeking an Actuarial Intern to join our Audit and Assurance team.
Responsibilities
- Assist actuarial staff with reviewing client reserves and actuarial liabilities, including assessing compliance with regulatory standards.
- Prepare and analyze data, develop actuarial models, and use statistical techniques to assess risk and project future financial outcomes.
- Complete quantitative and qualitative analyses to evaluate risks associated with insurance products, provide insights on risk management strategies, and support client decision-making.
- Engage with clients to gather and organize data and translate complex actuarial concepts into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to prepare analyses and deliver high-quality actuarial consulting services to clients.
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Upon completion of the internship, must have additional academic credits remaining before obtaining a degree and/or meeting CPA eligibility requirements.
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Actuarial exam progression is preferred; preference will be given to candidates who have passed at least one exam at the time of application.
- Knowledge of data analysis techniques and the ability to use computer applications, including Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel.
- Strong technical, business acumen, critical-thinking, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to demonstrate agility, professional judgment, skepticism, collaboration, and a professional demeanor in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a professional services environment.
Work Location and Travel
- Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance of the office and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using personal transportation or public transportation.
- Work may take place in the office or at client sites, some of which may require travel and overnight or extended stays.
- Depending on business needs, actuarial professionals may have the opportunity to work virtually or remotely within the United States.

Compensation and Benefits
KPMG offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. Benefits are based on eligibility and may include medical and dental plans, vision coverage, disability and life insurance, 401(k) plans, personal well-being benefits, and paid time off. Eligible employees may also receive company holidays and designated breaks during the year.
