The Role

Our Operations team is looking for a Trading Operations Specialist to support client bookings and reporting for equities trading across the Asia Pacific region. This team is responsible for managing the clearance, settlement, and reconciliation of all trades and positions on behalf of the firm’s clients.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with traders, finance, compliance, brokers, custodians, and firm customers to ensure timely settlement of trades, accuracy of books and records, and the avoidance of unanticipated risk to both the firm and its customers.

We seek candidates with technical experience, as you will also have the opportunity to work closely with software engineers to automate and enhance the robustness of the firm’s operations workflows. The Trading Operations Specialist will not only become an expert in the logistics and mechanics of trade clearance and settlement but will also play a crucial role in the ability of the firm and its clients to conduct trading efficiently and safely. Furthermore, you will represent the firm when dealing directly with external parties, requiring the ability to handle responsibility even under pressure.

Candidate Profile

• Fresh graduates or professionals with up to 2 years of work experience in finance back office functions (experience with the Australian market is a significant advantage).
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate systems and diagnose issues.
• Willingness to work early shift hours (Sydney timezone).
• Familiarity with MS Excel and Outlook.
• Knowledge of SQL and Python is considered an advantage.
• Proactive, willing to learn, and able to perform effectively under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and a customer service orientation.
