The CTTA Team

A&M's Corporate Transaction Tax & Advisory (CTTA) team features seasoned tax professionals who provide practical tax advice to corporate buyers and sellers throughout the transaction life cycle. By leveraging an integrated approach with professionals possessing deep operating and financial experience, the team offers a focused and tailored method to quickly identify potential deal breakers, value drivers, and other critical areas of interest to our clients. We advise on all aspects of M&A, including structuring, due diligence, and post-deal integration, as well as core tax planning matters like internal restructurings, tax attribute modeling, and other strategic initiatives—helping clients navigate complex transactions while optimizing outcomes. The team has extensive experience supporting both buy- and sell-side transactions across industries such as healthcare, financial institutions, energy, technology, and consumer products.

How You Will Contribute

As a member of the Corporate Transaction Tax & Advisory (CTTA) team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the execution of tax due diligence and transaction advisory engagements for corporate clients.
  • Analyzing tax returns, financial statements, and other tax-related data to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Conducting research and analysis on various federal, state, and international tax matters.
  • Participating in client calls and internal discussions to understand transaction structures and key client objectives.
  • Assisting in the preparation of client deliverables, presentations, memoranda, and reports.
  • Collaborating with professionals across the Tax practice to address client issues and support engagement teams.
  • Effectively managing multiple priorities and communicating project status, timelines, and deliverables to team members.
  • Seeking opportunities to expand technical knowledge and deepen understanding of transaction tax considerations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a JD (3L), LL.M (Taxation), Master of Science in Taxation, or Master of Accounting with an emphasis in Tax.
  • Must have definitive plans to meet minimum educational requirements for CPA eligibility and licensure in the assigned office location, or be a member of a State Bar.
  • Demonstrated strong interest in mergers and acquisitions, transaction advisory, and tax consulting services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize competing deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, intellectual curiosity, and a strong desire for professional growth.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employment-based sponsorship now or in the future.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation Statement

The annual base salary ranges from $110,000 to $125,000, which depends on several variables including education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance. Please consult your recruiter for full details.

Benefits Summary

Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are eligible for Alvarez & Marsal Holdings’ fringe benefits, including healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages. A 401(k) retirement plan is also available, with a discretionary contribution from A&M, provided eligibility requirements are met. Employees are eligible for paid time off, including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part-time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. Vacation and personal day allowances vary based on tenure and role type.
