Job Purpose

The Associate, Sample Clearance is responsible for supporting Sample Clearances for SMP. In this role, you will enable the strategic vision for the business function by providing exceptional, top-tier service to our songwriters.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all Ex. US sample clearances for US originating works, working closely with all global affiliate offices.
  • Interface with outward-facing customers (labels, clearance agents, managers, lawyers, etc.) to gather splits and confirmation of uses.
  • Log all sample/interpolation licensing requests in Lotus Notes.
  • Manage and oversee the maintenance of audio files and clearance documentation for the Sampling team.
  • Generate invoices and liaison with record labels and internal stakeholders to facilitate the processing of sample fees and advances.
  • Create sampling initiatives to promote awareness of SMP catalogs.
  • Work with affiliates, internal SMP US stakeholders, and writer teams to resolve infringements ex. US.
  • Perform copyright research to validate claims for SMP copyrights, ranging from licensing requests to chain of title searches for terminating writers or other BA/Legal matters.
  • Liaise with other departments regarding samples being used and sampled writers.
  • Manage and maintain the SMP DISCO site by continuously adding new works, ensuring accurate, up-to-date, and searchable catalog information.

  • The role involves a standard 7.5-hour business workday, but work volume frequently requires extended hours for evening and late-night events.

Compensation Details

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is: $62,900.00 - $89,800.00.

This range does not include any other compensation components or benefits an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on various factors, including the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, specific skills, level of education, certifications, and the applicant's location.
