Purpose of Job
The intern will support the smooth functioning of the PSD Front Office under the supervision of the Adviser to the Managing Director of PSD.
The Policy, Strategy and Delivery (PSD) Department is part of the Vice Presidency for Policy Partnerships. It is responsible for delivering the strategy, policy, and operational support functions across all of the Bank’s transition qualities, excluding green/climate. This includes Economic Governance, Gender and Human Capital, Capital & Financial Market Development, and Digital Transition.
PSD enhances the quality, delivery, and impact of the Bank’s interventions by leading and supporting policy engagements in the countries of operation. This involves policy advisory, reform advocacy, and capacity building, by providing political and political economy analysis to support operations and high-level dialogue with the leadership of Countries of Operations, and assisting in the origination and structuring of transactions with policy/sectoral reform linkages.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day function of the PSD Front Office, including coordinating and drafting briefing notes for senior management as required.
- Assist with the Managing Director’s speaking engagements at conferences and internal events, and participate in key committees.
- Perform data management and analytical tasks related to the analysis and tracking of the Department’s policy engagement and technical cooperation activities.
- Support operational matters related to project reviews, portfolios of technical cooperation/policy advisory activities, and operational risk reporting.
- Perform ad-hoc research and analysis of policy engagement and strategic issues that contribute to the Department’s high-level strategic documents.
- Support the Department’s communications, which includes managing internal intranet updates, writing internal and external posts and presentations, assisting senior management with their social media accounts, and coordinating report production, publication, and promotion.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Key Skills Required
- Proven organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to multitask, lead on projects under guidance, and engage with complex issues.
- Good understanding and interest in economics, policy, and financial investments, along with familiarity with the EBRD region.
- Excellent written (report writing, editing, correspondence) and verbal communication skills in English.
- Excellent quantitative/numerical skills.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly in MS Excel, MS List, PowerPoint, and web content management systems.
- A proactive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, international development, finance, or another relevant discipline.
- Candidate must be a national of an EBRD member country.
