Intern Position (New York City)

We are seeking an Intern in our New York City office to gain exposure to all facets of Greystone’s Accounting department. Interns hired for the summer of 2027 will be compensated at $29/hour.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages, including maintaining support schedules and assisting with account-level review.
  • Support the accounting team with account reconciliations, roll-forwards, journal entry preparation and support, and investigation of reconciling items.
  • Compile financial and operational data using Excel and other financial reporting systems, and assist with developing schedules used by the team and management.
  • Work with other areas of the department, including Treasury and Accounts Payable, and support payment processing as needed.
  • Assist with maintaining accounting documentation, procedures, and support for the Company’s internal control environment.
  • Participate in ad hoc accounting and analyses based on departmental needs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve or automate recurring accounting processes, reports, and reconciliations as appropriate.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • Strong general accounting knowledge.
  • Must have a strong work ethic.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Proficient in Excel.
