Internship Programme

Javelin’s Internship offers a 6-week programme designed for interns to experience life at one of the world’s leading commodity businesses.

Induction Weeks

During the first two weeks, interns will be fully inducted into the business. This includes small group sessions covering each department to provide comprehensive oversight of business operations, alongside team-building sessions with fellow interns. Each intern will be partnered with a mentor—an industry expert who will guide and fast-track the learning experience to maximize time within the firm.

Project Phase

Over the following four weeks, interns will take ownership of a project that directly supports the wider business and aligns with Javelin's strategic objectives. Working closely with their mentor, participants will apply insights gained during the programme to develop a solution, build recommendations, and deliver tangible outcomes. This hands-on experience provides a genuine understanding of the commodity trading industry by tackling real business challenges and collaborating with experienced professionals. At the conclusion, interns will present their project and key learnings to the wider business, including senior management and the CEO, showcasing the impact and value of their work.

Skills and Experience Required

• Currently enrolled in a degree in a STEM field, preferably Computer Science.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• A strong interest in a career within the commodities industry.
• Self-motivated and able to collaborate effectively with a global team.
• Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize work.
• Excellent communication skills (including listening, rapport building, and negotiation).
• A creative mindset with a flair for problem-solving.

Interview Process

The interview process consists of three stages:

1. Interview with HR: This session will focus on cultural questions to determine alignment with Javelin's values.
2. Technical Interviews: Candidates will meet with Javelin software developers to assess technical ability.
