2027 Early Talent Internship: Actuarial Services

Position Summary

The Actuarial Development Program Intern gains experience in the financial services industry through training, presentations, meetings, business-specific assignments, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. This is a 10-week summer internship that includes a comprehensive training and onboarding program, speaker series, lunch-and-learns, and cohort engagement activities.

Interns provide actuarial and related assistance in areas including capital adequacy and financial strength, experience studies, actuarial modeling, asset-liability management, valuation, product development, pricing, and non-guaranteed element determination.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform actuarial and risk analyses related to actuarial liabilities and the company’s capital position to support the financial strength of annuity and life insurance product lines and the company overall.
• Conduct experience studies and assist with assumption development for annuity and life insurance lines of business.
• Perform asset and liability modeling and analysis, including financial projections and stress testing.
• Support asset-liability management projects, such as economic scenario generation, duration analysis, and interest-rate stress testing.
• Assist with valuations of actuarial reserves and liabilities.
• Support asset adequacy testing and analysis for annuity and life insurance lines of business.
• Assist with annuity product development and policyholder illustrations, including the determination of non-guaranteed elements such as crediting rates and dividend scales.
• Provide support for plan pricing, risk management, and other business functions as assigned.
• Prepare information and research materials, including PowerPoint presentations.
• Take notes during meetings and provide them to team members.
• Research and gather documentation as directed by colleagues.
• Perform clerical duties, including organizing documents, maintaining files, photocopying, and related tasks as needed.
• Attend training programs, speaker series, lunch-and-learns, company functions, and networking events.
• Shadow multiple office roles and gain exposure to a variety of business functions.

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one Society of Actuaries (SOA) exam passed.
• Pursuing a degree in mathematics, actuarial science, or a related field.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Leadership potential.
• Technical skills.

• High school education preferred.
• No prior work experience required.
• Sedentary work.

Compensation

Base pay range: $22.00 to $30.00 per hour. The role offers a competitive hourly rate of up to $30.00 per hour. Actual base pay may vary based on relevant experience, time in role, internal equity, performance, business sector, and geographic location. Additional compensation may include participation in performance-based incentive programs, depending on the role.
