Personal Banker SAFE Act

The Personal Banker SAFE Act is an entry-level position responsible for supporting sales, product, and service activities in coordination with the customer service team. The role focuses on building customer relationships, fostering loyalty, and increasing sales to individual consumer clients.

Responsibilities

• Work with business credit requests under $250,000, recognize and refer larger lending opportunities, and cross-sell treasury and related small business products.
• Build referral opportunities through Centers of Influence (COIs) and the Member Get Member (MGM) Program.
• Support strategies to grow the small business client base and implement appropriate sales plans for Book of Business customers.
• Deliver client services and conduct outbound and inbound calls to acquire new relationships and deepen existing relationships through the cross-selling of relevant products and services while delivering a strong client experience.
• Coach and guide tellers and other branch staff on products and special programs, identify client needs, and provide appropriate referrals.
• Recognize clients’ transaction needs, educate them on service and digital channels, leverage available technology and marketing tools to identify opportunities, and present product offers and financial solutions.
• Understand and comply with Citibank policies, standards, and procedures.
• Assess risk appropriately when making business decisions, with particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and the safeguarding of Citigroup, its clients, and its assets.
• Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; adhere to policy; apply sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices; and transparently escalate, manage, and report control issues.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Previous banking, retail, or sales experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Smart Banking tools and technologies.
• NMLS registration and SAFE Act compliance.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
