About the Role
Citi’s Commercial Bank (“CCB”) is looking for Summer Analysts to join its Commercial Banking team. The team works with businesses with annual sales ranging from $10 million to more than $3 billion, helping clients maximize growth by leveraging Citi’s banking products, including deposits and lending, cash management, trade, FX (foreign exchange), and capital markets solutions.
The 10-week Summer Analyst Program starts in June and begins with in-depth training. People learn differently, so the program combines formal training with a complete hands-on experience to help you quickly ramp up and adapt to your role and Citi’s culture. Ongoing training covers sales, credit, product, technology, and professional skills, supported by a robust junior and senior mentorship structure.
Program Overview
By the conclusion of the Program, you can expect thorough experience with and a strong understanding of:
- The CCB target market, value proposition, and client coverage model
- How bankers interact with clients and identify their needs
- Various credit product types and how these solutions best fit client needs
- The commercial loan underwriting process, including loan structuring and documentation
- The end-to-end credit process, including new origination of credit and monitoring of a credit portfolio
- Engaging with clients, prospects, and centers of influence
- Citi credit and regulatory policies and procedures
What You’ll Do
The Summer Analyst will work directly with Relationship Managers and Analysts on a portfolio of clients, interfacing with various Citi teams across the firm and globally, including credit underwriting, cash management, loans, FX, derivatives, capital markets, and investment banking. You will support Relationship Managers by managing the existing portfolio and generating new business.
Responsibilities
Analysts play a critical role in meeting the needs of clients and prospects, including:
- Conducting company research and industry analysis
- Analyzing financial data and performing financial modelling focused on company valuations, discounted cash flow analysis, and pro-forma analyses
- Supporting the commercial lending process, including secured and unsecured revolving lines of credit, term loans, syndicated loans, leveraged loans, cross-border loans approved locally, and loans extended overseas through CCB’s global network of 26 countries
- Taking ownership of the client experience by partnering with bankers and product teams to determine which products to leverage to help clients achieve their goals
- Contributing to deal management and client presentation preparation, including creating business development presentations, pitch books, prospect memos, and other client-related decks
- Interacting with partners across the firm, including product, credit risk, in-business controls, legal, marketing, operations, risk, compliance, and technology teams

- Due to be graduating in 2028
- On course to achieve a 2:1 (or equivalent) at undergraduate level in any degree
- Interest in business
- Fluency in a second language (desirable but not essential)
