What the Role Entails

We are seeking a highly motivated AI Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) Intern to join Tencent’s Overseas IT (OIT) AI Compute team in Singapore.

The team acts as a bridge between internal business teams and engineering/vendor teams to understand AI infrastructure and solution requirements, coordinate resources, and ensure successful delivery. You will gain hands-on exposure to AI infrastructure, GPU computing, cloud technologies, AI models, and AI agents, while working closely with stakeholders across different teams and regions.

This role is ideal for someone who is technically curious, highly communicative, proactive, and genuinely interested in how AI can be applied to solve real-world business and infrastructure problems.

There may be an opportunity to convert to a full-time position based on performance and business needs.

Team Introduction

The AI Compute team sits within Tencent’s Overseas IT (OIT) organization and supports the full lifecycle of AI/GPU infrastructure and related solutions across different regions.

The team works across several key areas:

• Requirement & resource planning: Understand business requirements, identify required infrastructure and resources, and coordinate sourcing.
• Solution delivery: Work with engineering and vendor teams to ensure requirements are translated into workable technical solutions.
• Project execution: Support projects from initiation through deployment, testing, and acceptance.
• Issue coordination: Help coordinate stakeholders when technical or operational issues arise.
• Platform & tooling: Support the development and use of platforms, tools, and processes that improve AI infrastructure delivery and operations.

The Singapore team focuses primarily on delivery and coordination, while working closely with teams and resources across China and other regions, including the US and Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with internal business teams to understand AI, infrastructure, and technical requirements.
• Support the team in coordinating engineering, vendor, and business stakeholders to ensure requirements are delivered effectively.
• Assist with the delivery of AI/GPU infrastructure, cloud, and compute-related solutions.
• Participate in projects from initial requirements gathering through implementation, testing, and acceptance.
• Help investigate and coordinate solutions for technical or operational issues.
• Develop an understanding of AI models, AI agents, and practical applications of AI in business and infrastructure environments.
• Support technical documentation, project tracking, and knowledge sharing.
• Assist with evaluating technical solutions and understanding their suitability for different use cases.
• Communicate project status, requirements, issues, and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Participate in team meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions across regional teams.

Who We Look For

Skills & Experience

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to work effectively with business teams, engineers, and external vendors.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional and international environment.
• Strong interest in AI, machine learning, LLMs, and AI agents.
• Basic understanding of how AI models work, with the ability to discuss different AI models, their capabilities, limitations, and potential applications.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Basic understanding of cloud computing, networking, Linux, or infrastructure concepts.
• Familiarity with scripting or programming languages such as Python or Bash is a plus.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly.
• Able to work independently while also collaborating closely with a larger team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework, projects, internships, or hands-on experience related to AI/ML, LLMs, AI agents, cloud computing, distributed systems, or infrastructure.
• Experience building or experimenting with AI applications, LLM-based tools, or AI agents.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms or AI infrastructure.
• Basic knowledge of GPU computing or HPC environments.
• Experience working on technical projects involving multiple stakeholders.
• Interest in AI infrastructure and the practical deployment of AI solutions.
• Candidates with strong potential for full-time conversion are particularly encouraged to apply.
