Equity Capital Markets (ECM) Placement Analyst Program

Citi is looking for a placement analyst to join the Equity Capital Markets (ECM) team in London, starting January 2027. The ECM business works with corporate, private equity, and government clients, providing advisory services on capital-raising activities including Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), Accelerated Equity Offerings (AEOs), Rights Issues, and other types of transactions. Bankers work closely with other business units to ensure clients have access to the full range of products and expertise within the organisation.

Program Overview

The Equity Capital Markets placement analyst program is a 6-month program starting in January 2027. It trains and grows key players in today’s changing economic environment and equips successful Placement Analysts with the knowledge and training needed to help companies and governments raise capital in new and innovative ways. Successful Placement Analysts will be considered for a full-time position after graduation.

What You’ll Do

• Develop pitchbooks and execute ECM mandates for Citi clients, working closely with M&A, Financing, and Debt Capital Markets teams where necessary; interact with clients and various levels of management.
• Manage the transaction process, including compliance checks, committee approvals, and liaising with research compliance; work with senior bankers and management on transaction terms.
• Analyse financial data and understand financial models, including stand-alone company valuations, discounted cash flow analysis, financing, comparative analysis, and pro-formal analyses.
• Develop a regular dialogue with Citi’s sales force globally and understand the investor base; coordinate activities across the franchise by interacting with Citi’s network around the globe.

Who We’re Looking For

• You are in your penultimate year of university.
• You are expected to achieve, or have achieved, a 2:1 (or equivalent) at undergraduate level in any degree discipline.
• You are available to start in January 2027.

Location and Work Model

The role will be based at 25–33 Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London, E14 5LB, United Kingdom.

This role currently offers a hybrid working model, with a mandatory three days in your assigned office and an optional two days from home, subject to business approval.
