Purpose of the Role

To participate in the day-to-day activities of the retail banking division, providing insights and expertise that help senior colleagues make informed decisions, develop new products and services, and identify new market opportunities.

Accountabilities

  • Execute small research projects to support strategic decision-making; prepare presentations and reports to communicate research findings; collaborate with senior management to implement research findings for retail banking.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Identify opportunities, develop business cases, and help manage the deployment and launch of new products and services for retail banking.
  • Manage client relationships and provide customer service support with steadily decreasing supervision, including responding to questions about products and services, processing transactions, and resolving customer complaints.
  • Support the development and implementation of financial models and strategies that inform decision-making for retail banking.
  • Train and mentor junior colleagues.

Annual Salary

£25,200 plus benefits.

Getting Qualified (Apprenticeship)

Earn whilst working towards a Financial Services Professional Degree Apprenticeship, combining theoretical learning with practical work on a full-time salary in a permanent role. This provides the opportunity to gain a professional qualification without a student loan, alongside years of work experience.

From day one, you’ll be assigned a Programme Support Manager matched to your needs and background, and supported alongside your People Leader. You will also be matched with an expert in your specialist subject to share their knowledge.

Due to the evolving nature of Apprenticeships, a new Apprenticeship might become available, and if deemed more relevant to your role, the Apprenticeship may be updated before you start.

Eligibility

  • 3 A-levels at BBB (or equivalent).
  • GCSE Mathematics grade 6 and English Language grade 4.
  • Meet the Government’s apprentice funding requirements that apply to you (as outlined for apprentices in England at https://www.gov.uk/ and in Scotland at https://www.saas.gov.uk/).
  • Meet the Government apprentice funding requirement, including a 3-year residence requirement (subject to certain exceptions).
  • Have the legal right to work for the full duration of the programme at the point of enrolment, with no gaps in legal right to work or dependency on future visa applications during the apprenticeship period (August 2027 to August 2031).
  • Not have undertaken previous study, education, training, qualifications, or an apprenticeship, gained learning or competence from prior work experience, or received prior funding or financial support which would render you ineligible for Government’s apprentice funding.
