Program Overview

Program Name: Global Human Resources (GHR) Summer Associate Development Program – 2027

Program Purpose & Objectives: The Global Human Resources (GHR) Summer Associate Development Program is designed to introduce students to Bank of America’s organization responsible for making Bank of America a great place to work by serving as a strategic partner to every business across the enterprise. The program provides hands-on experience, professional development, and exposure to leaders across the enterprise while building foundational skills for a career in Human Resources.

Duration & Structure: This is a 10-week summer internship program. Summer Associates are placed on one team within Global Human Resources and participate in structured training, project-based work, mentorship, networking opportunities, and professional development sessions throughout the summer.

Role Overview

Role Title: Global Human Resources Summer Associate

Role Purpose: Summer Associates support key human resources initiatives while gaining hands-on experience and exposure to senior HR leaders. Participants contribute to business advisory work, HR operations, and special projects that align talent strategy with business objectives. Rotations and exposure may include: The Academy, Compensation & Benefits, Global, Employee Relations, Global Talent, Talent Acquisition, Governance, Operations Analytics & Transformation, HR Generalists, Life Event Services, and Opportunity & Inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support line-of-business initiatives that enhance employee experience and organizational effectiveness
  • Partner with HR leaders to understand how human capital strategy supports business outcomes
  • Contribute to business advisory work, HR processes, operations, and special projects
  • Assist with analysis, reporting, and presentation development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on enterprise HR initiatives

Day-in-the-Life

Summer Associates work as part of a Global Human Resources team, supporting ongoing initiatives, attending team meetings and leadership discussions, contributing to analysis and deliverables, and engaging in training, mentorship, speaker series, networking events, and community service opportunities.

Educational Requirements

  • Visa Sponsorship: Bank of America is unable to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship now, or in the future, for this specific role.
  • Degree Type: Master’s Degree or MBA degree program
  • Class Standing: Considered candidates should be in their penultimate year of school
  • Professional Experience: Master’s candidates should have at least 3 years of full-time professional experience

Graduation Dates: November 2027 – August 2028

Major/Course of Study: Industrial or Organizational Psychology, Human Resources Management, Communications, Industrial and Labor Relations, Organizational Development, or related fields

  • Applies HR systems, analytics tools, and AI-enabled platforms (e.g., Copilot, HRIS platforms) to improve efficiency and insight generation
