Programme Overview

Wells Fargo’s Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) delivers a comprehensive suite of banking and financial solutions to over 15,000 corporate and institutional clients, including over 70% of the S&P 50.

As a trusted partner, we provide corporate and transaction banking, commercial real estate lending and servicing, investment banking, and equity and fixed income solutions, including sales, trading, and research capabilities, for corporate, commercial real estate, government, and institutional clients.

Wells Fargo’s Banking internship offers the opportunity to support complex transactions and strategic advisory work for leading corporates and institutions. The programme is designed to introduce you to the core activities of investment banking in a collaborative and professional environment.

Summer Analyst Programme 2027

The programme duration is 10 weeks starting in late June 2027. It is designed to help you discover Wells Fargo CIB, its culture, and how we collaborate to deliver solutions for our clients. The programme includes organised activities such as classroom training and networking opportunities to support your professional development.

During the ten-week programme, you will join teams such as Investment Banking (Mergers and Acquisitions, Fund Finance or Debt Capital Markets and Advisory) and our Corporate Banking teams. These teams help clients raise debt and equity capital, pursue growth opportunities, and manage financing risk. You will work on research and analysis, assist with presentations, and gain exposure to internal processes that support live deals. Training and mentorship are built into the programme to help you grow your technical knowledge and professional confidence.

Banking and Capital Markets (“BCM”) Overview

The BCM team sits within Wells Fargo’s Corporate and Investment Bank and is dedicated to understanding the unique competitive and operating environments of our clients. Combining strong relationships and industry knowledge with capital markets and advisory capabilities, BCM delivers exceptional execution. BCM is organised across coverage and product teams, including Corporate Banking, Financial Institutions, Fund Finance, and M&A, among others.

Responsibilities

During the Banking Internship, your responsibilities may include:

  • Conducting company and industry research
  • Analysing historical financial performance and modelling future outcomes to assess credit risk
  • Creating client marketing materials using Excel and PowerPoint
  • Assisting in preparing credit underwriting presentations for Risk Committee approval
  • Monitoring client developments and preparing updates for leadership

Required

  • Penultimate year undergraduate with an expected graduation date of June 2028
  • Demonstrable interest in finance through work experience or extra-curricular achievement
  • A record of academic excellence
  • Fluent in English

Desired

  • Knowledge of an additional European language would be beneficial due to the international nature of our EMEA business and client relationships
  • An engaging and collaborative approach, with the ability to remain organised, adaptable, and attentive to detail
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands, meet deadlines, and achieve goals in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to quickly evaluate and solve analytical problems, with a basic understanding of mathematical principles
