Trade Credit Middle Market Junior Underwriter

Responsibilities

• Develop strong relationships with brokers and clients to grow the Underwriter’s trade credit portfolio
• Underwrite large/complex submissions with a focus on middle market new business and renewals; negotiate policy terms and conditions
• Analyze domestic and international corporate credits, evaluate financial information, and recommend or approve appropriate credit limits and terms
• Maintain and properly service an existing portfolio of trade credit insurance business
• Market, sell, and present to brokers and insureds to increase submission flow
• Participate in underwriting and marketing projects to improve company results
• Train, mentor, and provide technical direction to fellow Underwriters to support group revenue targets and meet internal operations/audit directives
• Meet operating and audit guidelines and goals of senior management
• Participate in and complete special projects as required by the profit center
• Collaborate with AIG distribution colleagues to identify and close trade credit opportunities
• Some travel required

Qualifications

• Background in credit or financial analysis, with strong commercial development skills
• 1+ years of underwriting experience is preferred
• Experience in trade credit, finance, or banking is preferred
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Cap IQ, and Salesforce
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in business or finance is preferred
• Second language proficiency is a plus

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $76,000–$86,000, and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
