Role Summary

SGX is looking for a passionate and driven intern to join the Marketing & Communications team and help shape the SGX Group story and reputation across the world. This internship offers hands-on experience in strategic communications, media relations, corporate reputation and employer communications within the Media & Internal Communications team.

Learning Objectives

As part of your internship, you will be immersed in impactful projects and initiatives, including:

  • Industry and Reputation Monitoring: Track global financial trends and media coverage, preparing insights for senior leadership.
  • Content Creation and Campaign Development: Craft engaging content, including news releases and speeches, social media posts and internal communications.
  • Event Planning and Execution: Support high-profile events such as Stock Market Opening ceremonies, media events and briefings, as well as employer brand and internal staff engagements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Project Management: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, building multitasking and prioritisation skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Executive Communications Exposure: Assist in preparing communications for SGX Group’s Executive Management Committee (EMCO) and gain insights into strategic messaging.
  • Understanding the Financial Ecosystem: Learn how SGX Group drives innovation and development in global capital markets, including its suite of financial products and services.
  • Professional Development: Grow marketing and communications capabilities in a fast-paced, globally connected environment.

Job Description

As an intern in the Marketing & Communications unit at SGX Group, you will work alongside experienced professionals and gain hands-on exposure to marketing and communications within capital markets. You will contribute to strategic initiatives in the Media & Internal Communications team and develop skills in content creation, stakeholder engagement, brand management and event planning. Your work will help shape SGX Group’s corporate reputation and employer brand across local and international audiences.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, managing timelines and meeting project milestones
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholder groups
  • Attention to detail and comfort working with spreadsheets and basic metrics
  • Willingness to work outside core office hours during events when needed
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and accountability
  • Fluent in English
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with creative software such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or MOVAVI is beneficial
