Business Intelligence Engineer Intern (Amazon EU Student Programs)

Key Job Responsibilities

• Develop analytical solutions to business problems using high standards of analytical rigor and data integrity.
• Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis, including data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
• Write high-quality code to retrieve and analyze data.
• Analyze and solve business problems at their root by stepping back to understand the broader context.
• Design pragmatic analyses and automated metrics that add value to your business area.
• Understand data resources—how, when, and what to use (and what not to use).
• Develop analyses (fully formed or exploratory) for the business’s sake, not for analyses’s sake.
• Seek to understand business objectives relevant to your area, align your work to those objectives, and deliver business value.
• Proactively and continually improve your knowledge of Amazon’s business and relevant data resources.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience programming to extract, transform, and clean large (multi-TB) data sets.
• Experience with the theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results.
• Experience with AWS technologies.
• Experience with scripting for automation (e.g., Python) and advanced SQL skills.
• Experience with the theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning, and data mining.
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs.
• Experience with SQL.
• Experience with data visualization using Tableau, QuickSight, or similar tools.
• Experience in the data/BI space.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior leadership.
