Asset Management - Finance - Assistant Finance Permanent Controller, Asia Pacific (1 year contract)

Role Description and Purpose

You will support the implementation and execution of the APAC Finance Permanent Control framework across regional and local entities to mitigate accounting risk. You will monitor Finance operations by performing Key Surveillance Points (KSP) testing, tracking corrective action plans, and assisting with control design during integration and new setups. You will collaborate closely with local Finance teams to refine control plans and ensure audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the implementation of the 1LoD / 2LoD Finance framework in the region in line with Group and AM standards.
• Support the roll-out and execution of the KSP (Key Surveillance Points) program for Asset Management APAC entities, including sample selection and control testing for key topics such as bank reconciliations, manual entries, accounts justifications, fees, access rights, and group reporting.
• Systematically review supporting documentation, evaluate adherence to policies and procedures, and accurately record any exceptions or control weaknesses identified.
• Prepare summaries of test results and assist with communicating key findings to the AM Finance Permanent Control team and country CFOs before deadlines.
• Follow up on the implementation and closure of corrective action plans, tracking progress and updating documentation where necessary.
• Assist in updating or designing control plans as needed for new finance set-ups and/or financial processes.
• Monitor the timely submission and quality of Group quarter-end reports provided by country CFOs, providing constructive feedback to improve submission quality as relevant.
• Support the preparation of slides related to permanent control and accounting risk management for the monthly Finance Permanent Control Committee and quarterly APAC CFO calls.
• Stay up to date with Group Finance policies and procedures, ensuring regional and local versions are updated timely to reflect Group requirements in scope, structure, level of detail, and information quality; assist in drafting regional procedures.
• Participate in APAC Finance Permanent Control projects and deliver assigned tasks within agreed deadlines and expected quality.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; able to build strong relationships with local finance teams.
• Strong academic background, preferably a Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance; knowledge/interest in financial services.
• Understanding of the financial control function and underlying processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical skills to summarize information and highlight critical areas.
• Strong multi-tasking skills with attention to detail and adherence to high-quality standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive, productive relationships with stakeholders.
• Proactivity and creativity in proposing solutions to improve existing setups.
