Environmental Conditions

Job Description

Position/Location Specific Information

  • Position title, department, and shift pattern: 3rd shift (nights)
  • Based at the Grand Island, NY site within the BioProduction Group
  • Competitive pay: $20/hr; shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift positions

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment including washers, autoclaves, manual pallet jacks, airlocks, lifts, and manual tools
  • Prepare, sanitize, and stage equipment for filtration and formulation operations
  • Operate sensitive equipment for testing filters; identify and perform basic troubleshooting
  • Clean and organize in a cleanroom environment
  • Follow safe practices, policies, standard operating procedures, and work instructions in controlled environments up to and including classified cleanrooms
  • Maintain compliance with the Quality Management System and regulatory requirements
  • Perform moderately complex tasks related to manufacturing cell culture media, and complete related duties as needed to meet business goals

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Formal training in Lean, 5S, or manufacturing processes is preferred

Experience

  • 1+ years of experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field required
  • 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced work environment strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • General understanding of technical/mechanical/machinery equipment preferred; basic computer skills required
  • Strong attention to detail for complex instructions and documentation while maintaining quality output
  • Demonstrated proficiency in multiple processes in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to perform basic math and communicate effectively (verbal, written, and oral) with the team
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, and move up to 50 lbs.; may need to stand for extended periods; ability to squat, bend, and reach to complete assigned tasks
  • Ability to wear PPE including a work uniform, steel toe shoes, hair net, beard guard (when required), safety glasses, and gloves; PPE may also include bump cap, face shield, and full/half-face respirators
  • Availability to work overtime and flexible shift patterns

Compensation and Benefits

  • Estimated hourly pay range (New York): $18.65–$27.97
  • May be eligible for a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results (per company policy)
