Location/Division: Grand Island, New York — Bio Production Group
Position Overview: The role supports the production and facilities equipment at the Grand Island facility. The facility is a class 2 medical device manufacturer of liquids and dry powder media in cleanroom environments.
How Will You Make an Impact?
Responsible for the day-to-day troubleshooting and maintenance of production equipment and facilities equipment, including preventive maintenance and calibrations of critical equipment to ensure compliance with work instructions, standard operating procedures, and efficient equipment operation.
Provide support to the production floor through setup and troubleshooting of automated equipment. Support engineering projects, including installation of new process equipment and process improvements, as well as validation of new equipment and processes.
A Day in the Life
- Troubleshoot and maintain production and facilities equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance for all equipment.
- Complete calibrations of critical equipment to maintain compliance and ensure efficient operation.
- Support the production floor with setup and troubleshooting of automated equipment.
- Assist with engineering projects, including installation of new process equipment and process improvements.
- Support validation activities for new equipment and processes.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Trade & Technical school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Associate Degree (preferred).
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience in a production/manufacturing environment, preferably in a cGMP facility (required).
- Preventive Maintenance experience using a computerized maintenance management system.
- Experience with automated manufacturing equipment and ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment to a component level (preferred).
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Practical knowledge of cGMPs and ability to work in an SOP environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of electro-mechanical theory and best practices for repair and maintenance of related production equipment.
- Basic knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Ability to aseptically gown and work in a cleanroom environment.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation
- Competitive hourly pay rate: $18.56–$27.97 (estimated range for New York).
- Additional shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift positions.
- Annual merit performance-based increase.
- This position may be eligible for a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results, in accordance with company policy.
