Work Schedule
Flexible shifts, minimum 40 hours per week (5-day work week), Monday–Saturday (excluding lunch). Rotating shift options may be required: 8:00am–5:00pm, 9:00am–6:00pm, or 10:30am–7:30pm. Ability to commit to rotating public holiday duties and on-call duties on Sundays.
Environmental Conditions
Laboratory setting. Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required, including safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.
Job Description
Join our team as a Medical Technologist and help improve patient health through laboratory expertise. In this role, you will perform analyses and evaluate individual and related laboratory data, recognize patterns or trends that suggest significance of results, and determine the level of clinical significance. You will also evaluate analytical data to identify relevant patterns or trends.
What You'll Do
- Perform, review, and interpret complex, esoteric, and routine chemical, hematological, coagulation, renal, lipid, and hormonal analyses using manual, automated, and/or microscopic methods.
- Integrate analytical results with specific and highly varied clinical trial protocols to evaluate credibility, appropriateness, and accuracy of test results, supporting entry or exclusion of subjects from research programs.
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair clinical laboratory equipment, including routine preventative maintenance, calibrations, and safety checks.
- Recognize instrument problems and pursue appropriate resolutions.
- Evaluate analytical reagents, calibrators, and QC standards to ensure accuracy of analytical results.
- Evaluate quality control procedures, assess results, and implement corrective action when indicated; assist with ongoing statistical data analysis to detect trends and problems and undertake corrective action.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science, Biological Science, Medical Technology, or equivalent, with at least 1 year of relevant Med Tech experience. Relevant diploma holders with > 1 year of relevant Med Tech experience are welcome.
- Ability to commit to a flexible work arrangement with a minimum of 40 hours per week (5-day work week), Monday–Saturday (excluding lunch). Rotating shifts may be required, and you must be able to commit to rotating public holiday duties and on-call duties on Sundays.
- Prior experience in LC-MS is preferred. Opportunity to be cross-trained in other laboratory sections may be available.
