What the Role Entails

Tencent Games Global Data Insight Team is the international unit of Tencent Games, a leading global data-driven decision-making platform for game development, publishing, and operation. Our mission is to solve the toughest challenges in the gaming business with data and technology.

As a Data Scientist (Summer Intern) at Tencent Games, you will be responsible for:

• Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to provide data-driven insights and solutions to business problems in the gaming industry, including decision-making scenarios across R&D, marketing, and operation stages.
• Developing scalable, efficient, and automated processes for data analysis, machine-learning model development, model validation, and serving.
• Collaborating with data product managers and data engineers to design and implement end-to-end solutions across game production, publishing, and live-ops.
• Researching new machine learning approaches (including AIGC-related technologies) and exploring their potential applications in the gaming industry.

Who We Look For

To be considered for this position, you should have:

• A Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative discipline, such as computer science, machine learning, or math/statistics. A Ph.D. with a strong publication record is preferred.
• A passion for applying mathematical models and computer science technology to data-driven business decision-making, along with deep insights into and understanding of the gaming industry.
• Expertise in mathematical modeling and statistical analysis, including probabilities, time series analysis, machine learning models, and A/B testing.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, or related languages.
