Second Shift (Afternoons) — Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM. 10% shift differential.

Environmental Conditions

  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance.
  • Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) safety standards.
  • Cleanroom requirements: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair, etc.
  • Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (e.g., safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs).
  • Exposure to strong odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products, etc.).
  • Will work with hazardous/toxic materials.

A Day in the Life

  • Use equipment including mixers, mills, blenders, pumps, filtration systems, packaging, and laboratory equipment.
  • Weigh, measure, and check raw materials with the assistance of a computer interface to ensure batches contain accurate materials and quantities.
  • Calibrate and operate manual, semi-automated, and automated manufacturing equipment; identify and conduct basic troubleshooting for equipment.
  • Follow safe practices, policies, standard operating procedures, and work instructions in controlled environments up to and including classified clean rooms.
  • Complete and maintain compliance with the Quality Management Systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete moderately complex tasks related to manufacturing of cell culture media and perform related duties to meet business goals and requirements.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Formal training in Lean, 5S, or manufacturing processes is preferred.

Experience

  • 1+ years of experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice environment or manufacturing or related field is required.
  • 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced work environment is strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • General understanding of technical, mechanical, and machinery equipment is preferred. Basic computer skills are required.
  • Strong attention to detail for complex instructions and documentation while maintaining quality output; demonstrated proficiency in multiple processes in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Perform basic math and communicate effectively verbally and in writing with the team.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, and move up to 50 pounds; may be required to stand for extended periods. Ability to squat, bend, and reach to complete assigned tasks.
  • Ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including work uniform, steel toe shoes, hair net, beard guard (when required), safety glasses, and gloves. PPE may also include a bump cap, face shield, and full/half-face respirators.
  • Availability to work overtime and flexible shift patterns.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $17.85–$26.77.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Total Rewards includes:
