Overview

Guardian Glass is seeking an enthusiastic and safety‑driven Production Operator to join our team in Geneva, NY. This role involves operating and troubleshooting equipment to enhance production efficiency and ensure the creation of high‑quality glass that meets customer expectations. The position requires effective communication across departments and with internal customers, maintaining a safe work environment with proper PPE, practicing safe work habits, and promptly reporting safety concerns. The role also involves following daily run schedules, addressing quality issues, escalating unresolved concerns, and assisting with tasks such as packing products and transitioning between duties as needed. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and repetitive lifting of up to 35 pounds with twisting at waist level during product packing tasks, is required. The anticipated pay rate is $20.00 per hour. This role can operate in any area of the facility, including float, coater, off‑line cutting, tempering, or warehouse departments. The work involves a rotating 12‑hour shift to include weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

What You Will Do

• Follow and perform tasks according to provided work instructions or Job Element Sheets (JES)
• Follow 5S procedures and complete general housekeeping duties
• Operate equipment and mechanized devices, run, maneuver, navigate, or drive forklifts
• Operate machines or processes through control mechanisms or physical activity, inspecting equipment, materials, and products to identify errors, issues, or defects
• Judge product quality and adjust accordingly—following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and JESs
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot equipment used during daily manufacturing
• Prepare final products for shipping and distribution
• Perform quality checks, pack products, assist coworkers as needed, and transition between tasks seamlessly

Who You Are

Basic Qualifications

• Experience using a computer and familiarity with technology

What Will Put You Ahead

• One or more years of experience in farming, manufacturing, industrial, or military environments
• Six months or more of machine operator experience
• Experience using a tape measure, air nailer, hammer, bander, micrometers, and glass cutters
• Experience operating an overhead crane
• Experience operating a forklift and/or motorized pallet jack
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance

Schedule & Work Environment

Production Operators work a rotating 12‑hour shift to include weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Compensation

Approximate pay: $20.00 per hour
