Who we’re looking for

Penultimate year undergraduate or master’s student with outstanding academic achievement seeking a summer internship with the opportunity for 2028 full-time conversion. Strong quantitative, analytical, and logical thinking skills; effective verbal and written communication. Comfortable with change and able to adjust to changing demands and requirements. Strong team player with a client focus. Demonstrates energy, drive, and resilience as a problem-solver. Demonstrates initiative, creative thinking, and intellectual curiosity. Fluency in English is required; proficiency in an additional Asian language is highly advantageous.

Why Us

Asia Pacific Global Banking Operations (GBO) is responsible for the end-to-end implementation, servicing, and operations of all treasury, depository solutions, credit/loans, trade finance, and banknotes for business banking, commercial and corporate banking clients in 12 countries in Asia Pacific. GBO consists of three teams:

• Operations – The Operations team manages the combined operations functions for treasury, credit, and trade services for commercial and corporate banking clients. Key responsibilities include settlement and clearing transactions, processing of payments, credit and trade transactions, and bookkeeping of loan assets and deposits. The team also works closely with regulators and supports various regulatory reporting.
• Fulfillment, Document Management & Client Service –
  • Client Fulfillment manages new client onboarding for Global Payment Solutions, a core Bank of America business. Responsibilities include project management, product setup testing, and client training.
  • Document Management guides clients through documentation requirements, including collection, review, and account opening, coordinating with KYC, AML, and Operations to ensure backend system readiness.
  • Client Service supports onboarded clients in day-to-day business needs, including transaction support and inquiries. Handles over 5.5 million inquiries annually and proactive client outreach across 12 Asia Pacific countries.

What you’ll do

Operations

• Ensure all transactions are processed quickly and accurately in accordance with internal policies and local regulations.
• Manage operational risk to maximize control and profitability while minimizing risk.
• Proactively identify, debate, address, and escalate any deviations or issues on an immediate basis.
• Work with business partners on complex transactions to provide professional operational solutions and achieve client satisfaction.
• Drive process optimization and system enhancements, including technical and operational changes.
• Understand the local regulatory environment and support ad-hoc regulatory requirements and inspections.
• Ensure services and execution meet market-leading standards and facilitate regulatory reporting as required by laws and regulations.

Fulfillment, Document Management & Client Service

• Engage in process improvement initiatives to enhance the client experience.
• Proactively manage day-to-day servicing inquiries of all assigned clients.
• Manage new and existing account opening onboarding.
• Log, investigate, and resolve inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
• Provide consistent service and keep clients informed on the status of outstanding inquiries.
• Liaise with local and overseas business partners across multiple regions.
• Analyze monthly client inquiry statistics to identify trends and recurring issues.
• Participate in client planning, RFP processes, and service enhancement initiatives.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve people, processes, controls, customer service, and cost efficiency.

Program Overview

The Summer Program is a 10-week program designed to provide Summer Analysts with exposure to life at Bank of America and the opportunity to contribute significantly to the team. The program begins with an orientation and induction to the firm. Summer Analysts are given a true associate experience, with assignments mirroring full-time responsibility, goal setting, and a formal review process. Participants gain access to the bank’s learning hub, structured on-the-job training, networking and social opportunities, speaker series with senior management, corporate social responsibility projects, and involvement in diversity and inclusion training/events. Consideration for full-time employment upon graduation is offered.
